New French AI Company Radar: February 2025

This is our monthly report summarizing AI-related companies founded in France. We identified 15 new companies via administrative filings, plus dozens more announced as part of AI-related incubators and accelerators. Upgrade to a paid subscription to see the full list.


🚀 VaubanAI was founded on February 17, 2025, by Florian Fournier (majority shareholder) and Arnaud Delaunay. The company's mission: "The design and development of AI-based technological applications to improve public and private security." Fournier was a co-founder of French unicorn PayFit. His LinkedIn bio says "starting something new." He registered the domain name VAUBANAI.COM on January 30.

🚀 Tellow was founded on January 6, 2025, by Mathieu Choplain, an entrepreneur who was previously Head of Comms for AI sleep startup Dreem. According to its filing, the company's mission is "the creation, design, implementation, operation, development, purchase and sale of software, software packages, databases, websites, and marketing materials, in particular in the field of welfare." According to LinkedIn, "Tellow analyzes your metabolism from a blood test to create a nutrition program tailored to your needs."

🚀 Hekia was founded on February 2, 2025, by Jean-Bernard Grubis and Cyrille Chaidron. According to LinkedIn, Hékia is a startup specializing in artificial intelligence disease detection with a universal hardware solution. Its website says: "Hekia is revolutionizing real-time disease detection in the field of medical imaging, thanks to a unique real-time, connectionless artificial intelligence analysis solution and the expertise of healthcare professionals." Although Hekia just recently filed its administrative papers, Chaidron's LinkedIn bio indicates he's been working on the project since late 2022. Chaidron is also the CEO and founder of Arteka, an optical AI startup.
