Seed Of The Week: Revyze
What: Revyze is an educational mobile app that has created a TikTok-style learning experience for teenagers. Users can upload videos with a maximum length of 3 minutes. All videos are reviewed before they can appear on the platform. When users open the app, they can scroll and search through a video feed of explanatory videos and quizzes. Creators accumulate points when they post a video and when someone thanks them after watching, which enhances their reputation.
Why: Education in France is quite rigid and formal. At the same time, a growing number of students are turning to platforms such as YouTube and TikTok in search of additional help. However, because those platforms are not focused on education, their algorithms may still steer viewers toward lots of non-educational content. Revyze is betting that educational videos created by students' peers will be more engaging and effective, and help create a more personalized learning experience.
