Today in French Venture Capital: IbanFirst, Grisbee, ContentSquare, PopChef, Klaxoon, Orson.io

These six French startups raised a combined $45 million.

IbanFirst: The French startup (which just changed its name from “FX4Biz”) offers “banking as a service” for fintech companies that want to serve small and medium business across borders. Today, it announced it had raised $11 million as it seeks to expand an offering that lets other fintech companies plug into its platform. The companies has its financial license for banking with the Belgium National Bank, but splits its offices between Brussels, Paris and London. The investment was led by French telecom entrepreneur Xavier Niel.

Grisbee: Located in Le Chesnay, this startup raised $3.3 million from Crédit Mutuel Arkéa to develop is wealth management platform. (Read more here on FrenchWeb.)

ContentSquare: ContentSquare splits its HQ between Paris and New York, and offers a platform for businesses to optimize their online and mobile services by studying user behavior. The company raised $22 million in a round led by Highland Capital Partners. Founded in 2012, the company says it will use the money to continue its global expansion.

PopChef: This food startup has raised $2.2 million to expand its lunch delivery service across Paris. The company prepares all the meals with local products and delivers them by bike. Investors include Elior Group, Gilles Queru and Marc Simoncini, founder of Meetic. (Read more at FrenchWeb)

Klaxoon: This Rennes company has raised $5.5 million for its online teaching and collaboration platform. Users can share content across devices such as quizzes, surveys, challenges, brainstorming activities, or live messaging to help groups discuss and develop ideas. Investors include White Star Capital, Wind, Arkea Capital, and a consortium of business angels: Xavier Niel (Kima Ventures), Cyril Grislain Karray (ex-Partner McKinsey) et Xavier Gury (ex-Publicis Digital). Orson.io: Located in Paris, this startup has developed a bot to help users quickly build websites. The company raised $1.5 million from investors including Sarbacane Software and Bpifrance. (Read more here on FrenchWeb.)
