Today in French venture capital: Navya, Payfit, Coorpacademy, Hungry Up
Coorpacademy: The Paris-based corporate edtech platform raised $11 million from a round of investors to expand its training service to more countries. Founded by a couple of former Google execs, the company was launched in 2013. (See more on VentureBeat.)
Navya: Based in Lyon, Navya raised $33 million to continue developing its autonomous, electric shuttles that are geared towards places like cities or defined areas like an airport. Investors include Valeo, SNCF subsidiary Keolis and Qatar-based Group8. (See more on Tech.eu)
Payfit: Launching just back in April, this Paris startup has raised $5.6 million from Otium Venture, Xavier Niel and The Family. For the moment, the company is offering an online payroll service for French companies. (See more on TechCrunch.)
Hungry Up: Another startup in Lyon! Though now the company works mainly with Paris restaurants and is focused on growing there. This service raised $665,000 and offers an application that will let you book a table at restaurant, order your meal, and pay all before you arrive. At the moment, only a Tinder-like meal selection is available. The ordering and pre-payment features are expected launch soon.
