🧠 Innovation in the Artificial Intelligence sector: An exploratory study of the structure of co-inventor networks | Lantz, Jean-Sébastien, Lacaze, Delphine, Braune, Eric and Sahut, Jean-Michel Management international / International Management / Gestiòn Internacional 28, no. 6 (2024): 101–114. https://doi.org/10.59876/a-es2g-vy4a

Abstract: Through an analysis of the global co-inventor networks of the 30 most innovative companies in Artificial Intelligence (AI), this research provides three key contributions: 1) the two dimensions of co-inventor networks: “encapsulation of information and knowledge,” concerning the overall network structure, and “accessibility to information and knowledge,” related to the inventor’s position within the network; 2) geographic location influences the structure of these networks; 3) the most innovative companies strategically choose between these dimensions in a global competitive context. These findings reignite the debate on the importance of connectivity and central positioning versus brokerage to achieve high levels of patent production in AI.

🧠 Advancing High-Throughput Cellular Atomic Force Microscopy with Automation and Artificial Intelligence | Ophélie Thomas- -Chemin, Sébastien Janel, Zeyd Boumehdi, Childérick Séverac, Emmanuelle Trevisiol, Etienne Dague, and Vincent DuprésACS Nano Article ASAP DOI: 10.1021/acsnano.4c07729

Abstract: Atomic force microscopy (AFM) has reached a significant level of maturity in biology, demonstrated by the diversity of modes for obtaining not only topographical images but also insightful mechanical and adhesion data by performing force measurements on delicate samples with a controlled environment (e.g., liquid, temperature, pH). Numerous studies have applied AFM to describe biological phenomena at the molecular and cellular scales, and even on tissues. Despite these advances, AFM is not established as a diagnostic tool in the biomedical field. This article describes the reasons for this gap, focusing on one of the main weaknesses of bio-AFM: its low data throughput. We review current efforts to improve the automation of AFM measurements in particular on living cells, as well as the developments in automating data analysis. For the latter, artificial intelligence (AI) is progressively employed to classify data to distinguish healthy and diseased cells or tissues. Finally, we propose a roadmap to foster the application of bio-AFM into medical diagnostics.

The Games were not without controversy, with incidents including the misrepresentation of South
Korea at the opening ceremony, doping scandals, and disputed results in gymnastics and boxing. Despite these challenges, the Games witnessed record-breaking performances and the debut of breakdancing as a new Olympic sport.

🧠 Health Data: Exploring Emerging Privacy Enhancing Mechanisms | Thomas Lebrun. Health Data: Exploring Emerging Privacy Enhancing Mechanisms. Computer Science [cs]. Insa Lyon, 2024. English. NNT. https://hal.science/tel-04874777v1

Abstract: Health data represents a large volume of information, generated daily and sensitive by nature. However, sharing this data is essential for advancing research and, ultimately, improving patient care. The use of medical data faces limitations due to its sensitivity and the need to ensure confidentiality, which is governed by current regulations. This necessitates enhanced protection. Interest in alternatives to sharing raw data, such as pseudonymization or anonymization, is
increasing alongside the growing need for access to training data for the use of artificial intelligence, which requires large amounts of data to function effectively as a medical assistant.
