What: Marc Menasé, one of France's most prolific Business Angels since 2005, launched Founders Future in 2018. The early-stage firm has more than €200 million in assets as it seeks out pan-European startups, particularly those working in fields broadly categorized as "tech for good."

Number of investments: 100

Size of investments: €250,000 to €3 million

What's new: The firm has closed the first €75 million of an expected €150 million in new funding. "We are proud of doing that in a bad environment," Menasé said.

60% of the money will support a new fund, Founders Future II. FFII expects to make between 45 to 60 investments, or about 12 to 15 investments annually. The new fund will expand beyond its current European geography to target startups in Southern Europe and Scandinavia.

The other 40% will be used for follow-on rounds for current portfolio companies as they expand past their Series A round. Founders Future will make between 15 and 20 investments in companies from their Series B to their pre-IPO rounds.
